Description

Frog (Xenopus laevis) egg arrested in metaphase of mitosis. Note the tiny metaphase spindle on the top left of the egg. Eggs were fixed in 90% MeOH; 10% (H20 500mM EGTA) and stained for DNA with YoPro1 (green) and tubulin (red) with antibody B-5-1-2 directly labeled with Alexa 647. A single z slice was collected with a Zeiss LSM 710 using a 10 X 0.3NA objective. Lasers were 488 (DNA stain) and 633 (Tubulin stain).
