Description

An electron micrograph of a cross section of a flagellum from the unicellular alga Chlamydomonas (Yellow strain) showing the characteristic 9-fold symmetry. This section, close to the basal body does not show the 2 central microtubules that occur in the axoneme proper. Image made available by James D. Technical Details

Original 3.25 in. x 4 in. lantern slides were scanned at 600dpi. Original magnification x93,000.
