Description

Figure 217 from Chapter 6 (Golgi Apparatus) of 'The Cell, 2nd Ed.' by Don W. Fawcett M.D. Freeze-fracture replica of a surface epithelial cell of rat bladder showing discoidal vesicles destined to be incorporated into the surface membrane. This is an example of the contribution of the Golgi to differentiation within the plasmalemma in mammalian cells. Image by Nicholas Severs and Marian Hicks. A PDF copy of the accompanying chapter is available on the ASCB’s BioEDUCATE website.
