Description

Transmission electron micrograph of the dense fibrous nuclear lamina (here labeled 'nuclear sheath')closely adpressed to the inner membrane of the nuclear envelope(arrow)in an intestinal epithelial cell of the salamander Amphiuma tridactylum. Compact heterochromatin is seen lining the inner nuclear envelope and nuclear lamina. Figure 156 from Chapter 4 (Nucleus) of 'The Cell' by Don W. Fawcett M.D.
